2025 - you have done well in 2024, but need to keep moving forward. I should have a little more time now to speak at this venue. I admire all the vlogger's out there, but staying old school here for awhile
Good afternoon smart value investors. I have finally switched from full-time to part-time work, so I have some time to devote to some more interesting and fun things, like talking about investing in stocks here.
So to quote the Grateful Dead, "What a long strange trip it's been". I have had a run of stocks, that I had purchased, that had done very well, and that I am out of now. First was ETN, then CRWD, then PLTR, then OSK, then RDDT. I still own EXPE that had a 28 point up day and still has a low PE. MMM has been a great asset to own also, which spun out SOLV. These buys were made when conditions felt right and the stocks were either fat with earnings and not being recognized, or on an upside momentum swing in these stocks based on large revenue forward projections.
Well, and then there were the ones that I just flat out missed.TEAM, BX, KKR, CEG, NFLX, NVDA, WMT,and AMZN are amoung a few. I finally managed to build a nice position in NVDA with some hysterical behavior taking place in the market about AI. The rest are in my watch list to patiently watch.
Here are some stocks that I recently purchased in 2025, and that I think are good values here.
BSX, $106.11, I found in my forever search for a value stock in the healthcare Sector that is also growing. This sector has been filled with value traps. I own BMY in hopes that it would finally breakout of its 10 year stock price slump, and I have TEVA on my watch list, that just never seems to catch a break in the market, now down in the $16's.
LEN, $123.84, and the other housing stocks have been pounded here because it appears in the short term that interest rates are not going down. There is a countrywide shortage in housing and rental properties , and LEN is projecting earnings next year of over $15.00 per share.
AMZN, $228.68, will benefit from applying AI to all there businesses. They own a good amount of the worldwide cloud storage business along with GOOGL and MSFT. The forward PE is 29.90 and they are sitting on a big pile of cash that they can apply to capex to further improve and dominate the businesses that they are in.
So I will try to dust my self off and get my "Sealegs" back so to speak, and come up with some good investment ideas to share with you.
Best wishes,
Freewilly
